For over a quarter-century, Dr. Bob Kellemen
has examined the Scriptures and Church history to develop
a comprehensive approach to soul care, spiritual direction,
spiritual formation, biblical counseling, and discipleship.
His passion is to equip people to change lives with Christ's
changeless truth.
For the past twelve years, Bob has served as the Chairman
of the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling and Discipleship
Department at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD.
Bob also works as a consultant for the 50,000-member American
Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). He is the Co-Director
of the AACC's Biblical Counseling and Spiritual Formation
Network (BCSFN). In this role, he edits the BCSFN Transformation
Newsletter and the BCSFN Formatio E-News. Bob
also writes a quarterly column (Soul Physicians)
in the AACC's Christian Counseling Connection Newsletter
and he writes a quarterly column (Truth for Life)
in the AACC's Christian Counseling Today magazine.
Through RPM Ministries, Dr. Kellemen offers
seminars and conferences on spiritual growth, spiritual friendship,
marriage, parenting, and men's issues. Through Rivendell
Personal Ministries, Bob and his wife, Shirley, offer
soul care and spiritual direction to ministry families.
In his three pastoral ministries, Bob has trained hundreds
of lay people in the art of spiritual friendship. As a Licensed
Clinical Professional Counselor, Bob brings a practitioner's
sensitivity to his writing and seminar ministry.
Bob is the author of Soul Physicians: A Theology of Soul
Care and Spiritual Direction, Spiritual Friends: A Methodology
of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction, and of Beyond
the Suffering: Embracing the Legacy of African American Soul
Care and Spiritual Direction . Additionally, Bob has
authored scores of articles and presentation papers, hundreds
of reviews, and several e-books.
He earned his B.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Baptist Bible College, his Th.M. in Theology and Biblical Counseling from Grace Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Kent State University.
Bob lives in Indiana with his wife of twenty-seven years, Shirley. They have two children: Josh who is 23, and Marie who is 19.
In addition to teaching, counseling, speaking, consulting, editing, and writing, Bob is a high school wrestling coach and an avid sports fan.
